Collect the vehicle with the paperwork

At collection, ask what was found, what was completed and which observations remain unresolved. Compare the invoice with the authorized work. Ask the workshop to explain follow-up instructions specific to the repair rather than assuming the vehicle needs a generic break-in routine.

Put it into practice

  1. Review completed and deferred work separately.
  2. Ask for relevant follow-up instructions.
  3. Save the service date and odometer reading.

Keep an approval record

Ask for the proposed work, diagnostic charge, expected total and the process for requesting extra approval. A clear record helps both sides distinguish an inspection from authorization to replace parts.
